Cassandralee A. Herber, RN, FNP-C, MMT

Hello! My name is Cassandralee (Cassie) Herber, and I am a certified family nurse practitioner at Credo Family Medicine. I am honored to be part of an amazing medical team that places Christ at the center of our daily work and mission. Here is a little bit of background about me!

I grew up with three younger brothers in a small town in western Pennsylvania. My parents worked very hard to send my brothers and I to Catholic school from kindergarten through 12th grade, and I will forever be thankful for the sacrifices they made for me. My dad was the one who encouraged me to pursue a career in nursing. I attended Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN and graduated with my BSN in 2013. During college I was introduced to my husband, Andy, who is from Roanoke, IN…and decided to settle in Fort Wayne after college. I worked as an RN for 4 years on the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Lutheran Hospital, and then completed my graduate degree in nursing at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, IN in 2017.

After becoming a certified family nurse practitioner, I gained experience working at Parkview First Care for 2 years, and welcomed our first baby boy in 2018. I then worked at Credo Family Medicine for about 3 years, and during this time we had a second baby boy and a baby girl! I stepped away from family medicine for about 3 years so I could spend more time with my little ones and worked part time at the University of Saint Francis Wellness Center. We now have 4 children, and I am beyond thrilled that I have returned to Credo in 2025 in a part time role that allows me to do what I love and also be equally present for my children!

Having 3 children in 4 years taught me a lot about the joys but also stressors of being a Catholic working mother. I knew that if I wanted to continue to have a career as a busy mother, I needed to re-evaluate our natural family planning method. It was after our 3rd pregnancy that I learned the Marquette Method of NFP and quickly became passionate about it. I decided to become a Marquette Method instructor after my husband and I found so much success in using this NFP method. I am so excited to share my knowledge about the Marquette Method with patients and spread the good news of NFP to as many interested couples as I can!

I look forward to meeting you and your families….and seeing some familiar faces again!

Cassie Herber, RN, FNP-C, MMT
